FIGURESHIP OF IRENE MARY

Irenianism is an approach to Roman Catholic philosophy, theology and social teaching that emerged from the life events and figureship of Irene Mary Taylor and that has recently been systematised by her grandson Cometan. Also called Irene theology, Irenianism is characterised by its rejection of some of the edicts established in the Second Vatican Council of 1962-1965. Irenianism is emblematised by its emphasis on the Catholic family, by its core concept of Living Catholic, and by its unashamed Neo-Traditionalist approach to many pressing social issues. The establishment of Irenianism comes as intertwined with the Cause for Beatification of its namesake Irene Mary Taylor as a formalised system of thought in the spirit of her Catholic beliefs and practice.
